Background of the Association
The seed of the Gospel was brought to Liangmai’s soil at Luangdi Village by Rev. William Pettigrew, a Missionary from America in the year 1919. After that the Native Evangelists K. Namrijinang and Songal, Kom came to Taningjam Village to preach the Gospel, Maisiging Newmai of Taningjam Village converted into Christianity in 1923 and then Pariwangbou of Longdi Pabram also converted in 1924. The head administrative office of the Association is headed by the Executive Secretary who oversees the function of the ministries under LNBA-M and the corresponding ministries with our partners and like-minded organization. The Finance Secretary perform the financial operations to ensure that all the functioning of the association is executed without any financial constraint by coordinating with the administrative head and the departmental heads. Proclaiming the message of Jesus Christ to the spiritually lost and reaching the unreached is the sole mission of Liangmai Baptist Mission. We are one of the Ministerial departments of Liangmai Naga Baptist Association that perform the role of making disciples and preaching His Gospel. Our department primarily aimed at the holistic transformation of the “every people and nations” into the Christian faith as mandated and proclaimed in the life and teaching of Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible through its expanded Christendom and by inculcating its values. The Women Department of LNBA-M which is one of the oldest departments in the ministry of LNBA-M was established in 1974. The Men Department, established in the year 1991 is one of the main departmental wings of the LNBA (M). It is the only department that directs and leads the menfolk to take an active role in the social and religious environment so as to heed in the moral values as a Christians. Read more...
Having been established since 1974, the Youth Department have made phenomenal impact in furthering the LNBA-M ministry through its involvement in the Association. The Youth Department has played a very important role towards the ministry of the association in the field of evangelism to the youths.
Our Department aims to bring the youths to Christ and be agent of creating a Christ centered society. We endorse capacity building to youths of local churches and enable them to serve the Lord in their youthful role as the followers of Christ.
Our regular ministerial program includes, Music Camp, Bible Camp, Outreach, Conferences covering the most related issues and counseling mechanism that comes with exciting activities to yield the message of true discipleship. We also endorse fund raising activities and other mobilizing exercises to keep the department sustaining spiritually and financially.
As one of the imperative ministry of LNBA-M the children ministry has been playing an initiative role of ushering the children towards the gospel of Christ. Initially, the ministry was headed by the Child Evangelist, however, as the ministry endeavour to broaden the horizone, it is now headed by the Children Coordinator. The ministry is being supervised by the Executive Secretary and all possible ventures to reach out more to children of the local churches and the underpriviledge churches.
Exciting activies like, Childen Festivals and Children camp are being conducted intervenly at the local church levels. Apart from these, we also subscribes to empowering the Sunday School Teaching staffs by giving trainings and orientations. One of the most rewarding activity of the ministry is the Vacation Bible School Ministry as the whole churches of LNBA-M partake and keep it engaged for atleas a week every year.
Children counselling is being offered in collaboration with other agency and partner to safeguard the dignity and integrity of a child. This ministry completes the colour of Liangmai Naga Baptist Association.
Established in the year 1975 by the Education Department of LNBA-M. The School started with a very humble beginning (Nursery – KG 2) during the establishment year. It is affiliated to Board of Secondary Education, Manipur in 1992. By the grace of God in the year 2009 IGNOU study Centre was also opened at Hamai School the Bachelor Preparatory program (BPP) and B.A courses for the first time in Tamei area. Centre Church
The LNBA-M Centre Church, Tamei was formed in 1961 under the leadership of the first settlers of Tamei .The church name was called Tamei Town Baptist Church at beginning, and then changed its name to LNBA-M Centre Church, Tamei in 1996. LNBA-M Centre Church, Tamei has been the Model Church of all the LNBA-M Churches, teaching and admonishing not only its members but setting an example in Conduct, Service and in all aspects of life to fulfil the motto of LNBA-M for all the churches under LNBA-M. The Liangmai Community living in the land of Manipur has been preached and the good news has been received by all. The last convert of all Liangmai community, Pejanliu from Bena Tababang village accepted Jesus as her personal saviour in the year 1995. Conclusively, the Liangmai Community of Manipur coordinated by the LNBA-M celebrated Passover under the theme “From darkness to light” in the year 2003. The Passover celebration has incepted the idea of spreading the gospel with exclusive concentration to Manipur state.
Thus, Liangmai Christian Passover Mission Movement (Manipur) was founded with the aspiration to preached to all the tribes and community people living in Manipur. This ministry operate under the superintendency of LNBA-M is headed by Mission Director who looks after the project evangelists. The ministry is working in collaboration with like-minded partners which are based based in Darjeeling, Sikkim, Tripura and Siliguri. Forthwith, the ministry is sponsoring 15 evangelist and has already planted 9 churches.
