Education Department
Established in the year 1975 by the Education Department of LNBA-M. The School started with a very humble beginning (Nursery – KG 2) during the establishment year. It is affiliated to Board of Secondary Education, Manipur in 1992. By the grace of God in the year 2009 IGNOU study Centre was also opened at Hamai School the Bachelor Preparatory program (BPP) and B.A courses for the first time in Tamei area. The progress is in full swing.
The aims and objective of Hamai English School is to provide quality education to the young children of rural areas who have no means to go to School in towns and cities. The school authority puts all effort to provide modern facilities to the students and staff to be at par with any institution in the country.

Location of the school: Hamai English High school is located at the extreme north of Namraining Tamei Town.

Bus Service
- Free (Transportation) for Nursery to class I
- Class II to X in ticket system.
Awards and scholarships
- Free tuition Fees for KG I students
- 50% Tuition Fees concession for Pastors’ children (only one seat i.e. Only for one child).
- Merit Scholarship for overall 10 top students: Adm. T/F free: (Sponsored by different individuals).
- 24 numbers of Merit scholarships (Adm.Free) for Class wise toppers (boys & girls separately)
- School Foundation Day Award: 1 month tuition fee free for all the students who could scored 75% and above in the previous academic session.
- Relief for the poorest of the poor students selected from 3 different churches every years.
- 5 Scholarships for poor and bright students (sponsored by different individuals)
Educational Programmes:
Computer Education
The Hamai School provides 18 computers for the students’ practical classes. From class III to X computer class is given in every academic session. Apart from the Hamai students ‘A Short Computer Course’ of basic computer education is also given to the local people, churches leaders and other surrounding villagers.
Science Laboratory
There is a compulsory Science Practical class from class VI to X students. The school authority provides all the materials needed for the student to carry out its activities.
Library
School library is open to all the students and the staff to clarify their doubts in their studies. The school Library provides daily Newspapers, Magazines, various books on G.K, biographies of different personalities, biblical study materials and text books for all the classes. Library books are also borrowed using Library cards.
Relief and Medical Aids
Students and staff is given First Aid whenever necessary during the school hour. Financial assistance is also given according to the seriousness of their suffering and the availability of the fund for those who are hospitalised. Financial assistance is also given to the students whose parents expire in order to help them continue their studies.
Games and sports
Since games and sports is also a part of education, the school authority provides different kinds of indoor and outdoor sports facilities for the students. Apart from every normal days during the Breaks, the school also set aside 10 (Ten) days every year especially for the Sports events so that the student both boys and girls can compete House wise according to their different categories enthusiastically participate in all events of ‘Outdoor and Indoor’ games. The School during this week divides into 4 Houses namely, Biuky House, Ahangky House, Agaky House and Zaduiky House the name of these houses is taken out from the name of four rivers flowing around the locality.
Students’ Welfare projects
Student’s welfare project is introduced to provide certain facilities in the school for those willing students to earn extra money to help their parents in some ways .Under this project, Scholarships is also given to the students.
Staff welfare project
This project is open so as to give financial assistance to the staff working in the School (in time of misfortune or serious illness and any members of their families)
Sunday English Worship Service
First Sunday of every month, is set for the English Service for all the students and staff of Hamai English High School. Various items like, presenting song, Bible reading etc were conducted in this Service.
Bible Study
Bible study is compulsory for all the students studying in class VIII- X of Hamai English High School. It is conducted twice in a month. In this Bible study song practice and Bible study provides basic needs for young students to face any problems in spiritual life.
School Missionary Project through Staff Faith Promise
All the staff of the Hamai School (if he/she is a Christian) is compulsory to give 1% of their total salaries per month as a faith promise. Half of the amount collected from this faith promise and offering during English worship service and Bible study is given to Mission Department, LNBA-M. and half of it along with the contributions of the extra dedicated staff and their family members goes to the Home evangelists commissioned by the school Authority especially for the students who are studying in different schools of Namraining Tamei Headquarter.
School Choir
Hamai School Choir is very active in every activities of the Association and Tamei Area representing almost every special occasions.
Extra Curricular Activities
Every Saturday is set a aside for Quiz, Debate, Extempore Speech, ,Essay & Poetry competition, Maths Olympic, Drawing & Painting, Song & Musical Competition, Choreography, etc.
Boarding House
There are 9 (Nine) Boarding Houses in Namraining Tamei Hq. affiliated to the Hamai English High School with certain terms and conditions provided by the school.
INDIRA GANDHI OPEN UNIVERSITY (IGNOU) STUDY CENTRE TAMEI
By the grace of God the IGNOU study Centre has opened at Hamai School for the course of Bachelor Preparatory program (BPP) and B.A. for the first time in Tamei area. The progress is in full swing. Opened at The Hamai English High School in the year 2009.
